How it works

From first message to the end of the evening.

Most people's hesitation isn't about the idea — it's the practicalities and the slight awkwardness of the unknown. So here's the whole thing, plainly, including the parts people usually only ask about in private.

1

You get in touch

A short, written enquiry. It's confidential, and it simply gives us a sense of who you are and what you'd use April for.

2

We verify and review

We confirm your age and ID, and read your enquiry properly — often with a short call. This is the gate that keeps the service safe for everyone, clients and plus-ones alike.

3

You request a booking

Tell us the occasion, the venue and the date. The more you share about the evening, the better the match and the smoother it runs.

4

We plan and confirm

We agree timings, dress, any names or context worth knowing, and settle the fee. By the time the date arrives, nothing is left to work out on the night.

5

The evening

Your plus-one meets you at the venue, is good company throughout, and leaves at the time you agreed. No loose ends.

What an evening looks like

How an April evening tends to go.

We're new, and we'd rather show you nothing than invent a client's story. So here, plainly, is how an evening tends to unfold.

You tell us about the occasion — a wedding you'd been putting off replying to, a dinner you'd like to attend, an opening night. We talk it through: the venue, who'll be there, and what would make it feel easy. You're introduced to your plus-one beforehand, never a stranger on the night.

You arrive together. The part most people quietly dread — walking in alone — simply doesn't happen. You have a drink, you're introduced rather than left hovering, and the evening begins. We stay contactable throughout, and either of you can bring it to a close at any point, with no explanation needed.

That's the whole of it. Good company, in public, entirely on your terms.

The things people ask quietly.

"What do I tell people?"

Whatever suits you. Most clients introduce their plus-one as a friend and leave it there. We follow your lead exactly — and no one is ever told the arrangement by us.

"What if we don't click?"

Tell us what you're after and we match carefully; if a pairing isn't right, we change it for next time, no awkwardness. Many clients settle on one or two plus-ones they ask for again.

"Will it be obvious?"

No. Your plus-one arrives as a guest like any other — relaxed, briefed, and entirely at ease in the setting.

"What will they know about me?"

Only what's needed to make the evening go well, and only what you choose to share. Nothing leaves us, and discretion runs both ways.

Practical notes

The details worth knowing.

  • Timing. We're a managed service, not instant booking — expect a proper reply within a few days, not seconds.
  • Notice. A week or more is ideal; weddings and busy dates want longer. We'll always be straight about what's possible.
  • Payment. Agreed and settled in advance, by our usual methods. No cash, no anonymous bookings.
  • Changes. Plans shift — tell us early and we'll do our best. Cancellation terms are in the Terms.

No surprises on the night.

That's the entire point of doing it this way. If it reads like something that would make your diary easier, this is where to start.

Or read how we keep it safe first.
