How April collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Last updated: June 2026.
April ("we", "us", "our") is a women-run, members-only event plus-one and social companion service based in Bristol and serving the South West. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@april-companions.co.uk.
We collect personal information only where we have a lawful basis to do so — to review applications, verify eligibility, arrange and deliver bookings, keep members and companions safe, meet our legal obligations, and respond to your enquiries. We do not collect more than we genuinely need.
Identity documents are collected securely, used solely to confirm age and identity, and stored with restricted access. They are never shared for marketing or any unrelated purpose, and are retained only as long as necessary.
We keep booking and safety records to deliver the service responsibly and to protect everyone involved. Access is limited to those who need it. Where an incident occurs, we may retain relevant notes and, in serious cases, share information with venues or the appropriate authorities.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, after which it is securely deleted. Identity documents and incident notes are kept for the minimum period appropriate to their purpose.
We do not sell member or companion data to third parties. We share information only where necessary to deliver the service (for example, trusted service providers acting on our behalf) or where required by law.
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@april-companions.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
For any question about this policy or your data, please email hello@april-companions.co.uk.
